Southern pine shipments reach 1.001 bbf in February, down 4% from 1.038 bbf in January: Southern Forest Products Assn.

LOS ANGELES , May 3, 2011 () – Shipments of Southern pine totaled 1.001 billion board ft. (bbf) in February, down 4% from January's revised shipments of 1.038 bbf, according to preliminary figures issued by the Kenner, Louisiana-based Southern Forest Products Assn. January was revised upward by 1%.

Shipments in the two months to the end of February were 2.039 bbf, up 14% from the same period last year and 7% higher than in 2009, according to figures reported by Structural Building Components Magazine.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate for February is 12.971 bbf.
