Procter & Gamble Co. will introduce Tide Pods detergent tablets in North America this September in what is touted as the biggest change in laundry since liquid detergent in July, Cincinnati.com reported April 26.
The new tablets, which are similar to the Cascade tablets P&G markets in its dishwashing segment, will contain three chambers of liquid detergent encased in a film dissolvable in any temperature of water, Cincinnati.com reported.
The company says the tablets will be twice as concentrated as liquid Tide and can be used in high-efficiency and traditional washing machines. Sample packs will be available from mid-July, and the Tide Pods will be sold in five sizes in September, reported Cincinnati.com.
