Murphy Oil Corporation (NYSE: MUR) announced the following organizational change, effective immediately.
Tom McKinlay has been promoted to Executive Vice President, World Wide Downstream Operations, Murphy Oil Corporation. In his new role, McKinlay will assume responsibility for domestic marketing operations with the announced retirement of Hank Heithaus. Tom will maintain responsibility for the Company’s worldwide manufacturing operations which include refining, terminals, renewable energy and international downstream operations, including Murphy Eastern Oil Company and Murco Petroleum Limited.
McKinlay joined Murphy in 1991, holding several positions with the Company’s U.K. subsidiary until taking a brief hiatus from the Company in 2001. In 2005, McKinlay rejoined Murphy in the United Kingdom where he stayed until being promoted to General Manager, Supply & Transportation and transferring to Murphy Oil USA, Inc. in 2008. He was promoted to Vice President, U.S. Manufacturing for Murphy Oil Corporation in 2009 and to Senior Vice President of the Company in 2010. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
He will continue to report to David Wood, President and CEO of Murphy Oil Corporation.
