RESTON, Virginia , January 4, 2011 (press release) – Stanley Martin Homes continued its sales success as one of the fastest growing companies in the Builder 100, Builder Magazine's listing of the 100 largest homebuilders in the U.S. Stanley Martin sold 405 homes in 2010, a 26% increase over its 322 home sales in 2009. Stanley Martin's sales have grown for 11 consecutive quarters, and its 405 sales in 2010 are far in excess of its peak "housing bubble" sales of 335 homes. Although year-end numbers have not been reported for other large builders, Stanley Martin believes it is the first large builder in the country to surpass its peak "housing bubble" sales. According to Stanley Martin's President, Steven Alloy, the company's unusually strong sales results can be attributed to several factors. "Stanley Martin introduced dozens of new home designs, builds in close-in locations where people want to live, and offers a compelling value for the home. Stanley Martin is also fortunate to build only in the Metro Washington DC housing market, which is among the strongest in the country."
