RANDERS, Denmark , December 22, 2010 (press release) – Vestas has received an order from Nordisk Vindkraft, part of the RES Group, for delivery of 23 units of the V100-1.8 MW wind turbine. The order has a total capacity of 41 MW and the turbines will be installed in Åmliden in the Malå Municipality of Västerbotten County, Sweden. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to be completed in December 2012. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system and a 15-year service agreement signed with the end owner HgCapital.

“We are very proud to be chosen as supplier for this project,” says Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe. “This is the second order signed with Nordisk Vindkraft within a short period of time, which shows their trust in Vestas’ products, offers and capacity. Nordisk Vindkraft’s great ambition of developing renewable energy to the Swedish market is impressive and we could not be more pleased.”

Åmliden wind farm is located 14 km away from the 44 MW Ytterberg wind farm, where Vestas is delivering 22 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines to be completed at the beginning of 2012. Both projects are developed by Nordisk Vindkraft, and acquired by funds managed by HgCapital.

"We are delighted to announce the sale of our Åmliden project to HgCapital,” says Arne Lorenzen, CEO of Nordisk Vindkraft. “The Åmliden project is the sixth wind farm project that Nordisk Vindkraft has successfully developed in Sweden and we look forward to delivering more projects to the Swedish market in the future. We would like to thank HgCapital for awarding us the EPC contract and look forward to working with them and with Vestas on the successful completion of the project.“

“Åmliden consolidates HgCapital’s leadership of the Swedish market, and is another example of Sweden’s great potential for industrial scale, highly cost-effective and resource-rich wind projects,” says Jens Thomassen, Director of HgCapital. "We are very proud of sponsoring the Åmliden and Ytterberg projects. Closing two large scale construction financings within five months and with the same top tier counterparties is a concrete example of HgCapital’s platform strategy of repeat deals in our core markets,” adds Luigi Pettinicchio, Associate Director of HgCapital.
