Mexican paper and paperboard producer Corporación Durango announces new corporate identity Bio-Pappel to reflect its sustainability in operations

MEXICO CITY , July 1, 2010 (press release) – Corporación Durango, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: CODUSA), the national leader in paper production and sustainability in its sector, reported the evolution of its business model. Therefore, as of today its new corporate identity will be Bio-PAPPEL, S.A.B. de C.V. It also informed that as of July 2nd its shares will be listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange with the trading symbol: PAPPEL.

This is a strategic decision that will allow us to reflect more accurately the company's DNA, that is, the BIOsustainability of its operations in everything it does, its recognized leadership in the PAPER industry in Mexico, and its commitment with the protection of the environment. Its subsidiary companies will operate under this name that it will also integrate its products and brands, and will drive a cycle of sustainable growth.

As of today Bio-PAPPEL, S.A.B. de C.V. will be conformed by four business units:

Bio-PAPPEL Packaging (previously Empresas TITAN)

Bio-PAPPEL Printing (previously Grupo PIPSA-MEX)

Bio-PAPPEL Kraft (previously Papeles Mexicanos)

Bio-PAPPEL International (previously McKinley Paper Company)

Bio-PAPPEL is the largest paper and paper products producer in Mexico and Latin America; it produces more than 2.0 million metric tons yearly. It is the national leader in producing sustainable packaging with corrugated cardboard. It is the larges newsprint paper producer in Mexico. It is the leading company in recycled, chlorine free bond paper production, and also in the manufacturing of sustainable paper sacks.

This has allowed us to become the leader in Carbon emission reduction within the paper industry by capturing 9 times more Carbon than the amount released by our processes.
