Timber Products Company, a leading manufacturer of hardwood and softwood plywood, announced that it will consolidate softwood plywood production from its White City, Ore., mill into its Grants Pass, Ore., facility effective Dec. 1, 2009.
The last day of production at White City will be Nov. 25, 2009.
"The market for softwood plywood products has changed dramatically in the past few years," said Timber Products Vice President Roger Rutan. "Timber Products will continue to offer the same full line of softwood plywood, both commodity and specialty products. We expect a smooth transition to Grants Pass to ensure an uninterrupted flow of materials to our customers. The consolidation of this production into our Grants Pass facility solidifies our commitment to the product line."
Most of the employees from the White City facility will be offered positions in the consolidated Grants Pass mill. The White City mill will be secured and retained in company ownership, with its future dependent on market conditions.
With manufacturing facilities in Oregon, California, Mississippi, and Michigan, Timber Products is a one-stop shop for customers to order softwood plywood, hardwood plywood, decorative overlays, particleboard, imported panels, hardwood and softwood veneer, and hardwood lumber.
