LOS ANGELES , September 3, 2009 () – The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. and Giant Food LLC are closing 43 Starbucks Corp. kiosks within their stores, Reuters reported Sept. 2,

According to company spokesperson Howard Cannon, the kiosks had been underperforming.

Stop & Shop stores will shutter 26 of the kiosks while Giant will close the other 17. Both Stop & Shop and Giant are owned by Dutch supermarket group Royal Ahold N.V.
