WASHINGTON, DC , October 17, 2023 (press release) –

The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) honors the California State University, Stanislaus library with the best website in the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) for 2023. This is a new award GPO created to recognized the creativity and easy access of Government information libraries are sharing on their websites. The library organized their website with clear categories of Government documents, which provides a user easy navigation. The library’s Government Documents Research Guide benefits students, faculty, staff and the community in accessing information about the three branches of the Federal Government.

“We want showcase how our libraries have and are embracing a digital FDLP,” said GPO Superintendent of Documents Scott Matheson. “The California State University library’s website of plain language, clear organization and easy navigation made them a great choice for this inaugural award. I encourage all FDLP libraries to collaborate and learn from some of the examples we have seen with this year’s winner.”

“CSU Stanislaus has been a member of the FDLP since 1964 and has transformed from print to primarily online collections alongside the GPO through the last three decades. Being recognized as the first Federal Depository Library Website of the Year is a particularly meaningful honor in the current digital age,” said Library Dean Ron Rodriguez.
