We’re excited to announce that Lily Boyce has joined the Graphics department full time as a graphics multimedia editor. Lily joined us this spring to help elevate our visual coverage of the U.S. election. She showed immediate talent for quickly generating visualization ideas, producing graphics for New York Times/Siena College polls, designing our suite of race trackers, and playing a role in defining our live debate and November results coverage. Prior to The Times, she worked as a senior designer in the Data Story Lab at Condé Nast, creating interactive projects and data visualization for the publisher’s different magazines. She created the Reviews Explorer to help readers discover connections in Pitchfork’s reviews. She also designed an interactive story for Wired that celebrated the joy of social media face filters. Lily holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Kansas. She is also a lettering artist and this year won a Certificate of Typographic Excellence from the Type Directors Club for her series of illustrated matchboxes. Please welcome Lily, officially, to Graphics.
