GPO Quadruples the Number of Congressionally Mandated Reports Since Launch WASHINGTON —U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) now has more than 500 Congressionally Mandated Reports (CMR) from more than 75 Federal agencies available for free public access on GovInfo, the one-stop site for authentic, published information for all three branches of the Federal Government. This number has quadrupled since GPO first put CMRs online in December 2023. These reports come to GPO after first being submitted to Congress, committees, or subcommittees. “We are thrilled with the success of our CMR program and thank our Federal agency partners for their efforts to comply with this important public access mandate,” said GPO Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern. “Also, a huge thanks to GPO’s Library Services and Content Management and GovInfo teams for making finding and submitting reports as easy as possible. This milestone is a continued representation of GPO’s efforts to deliver on our vision of an America Informed.” CMRs offer information on a variety of topics, including but not limited to Veterans’ medical care, health care coverage and access, marine and coastal resources, land use and conservation, and small business. Members of the public can browse the reports by agency or topic and may download a searchable table of the reports available. The 500 reports are available for the public to access at https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/CMR. GPO is the Federal Government’s resource for publishing trusted information for the Federal Government to the American people. The GPO is responsible for the production and distribution of information products and services for all three branches of the Federal Government, including U.S. passports for the Department of State as well as the official publications of Congress, the White House, and other Federal agencies in digital and print formats. GPO provides for permanent public access to Federal Government information at no charge through www.GovInfo.gov and partnerships with approximately 1,100 libraries nationwide participating in the Federal Depository Library Program.
