Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 Franklin, TN – August 28, 2024 – Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Cool Springs Galleria bookstore on Wednesday, September 4th. The new Barnes & Noble is located in the Cool Springs Galleria Mall (1800 Galleria Blvd, Franklin, TN 37067) in the space formerly occupied by Banana Republic, near Macy’s, JCPenney and Pottery Barn. ###
The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 10AM CT on Wednesday the 4th. The bookstore will showcase the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller.
“We jumped at the opportunity to open a new Barnes & Noble in Cool Springs Galleria,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “16 years after opening our last Barnes & Noble in this area, we’re glad to offer book buyers an additional location that is conveniently situated in a popular shopping center, thoughtfully curated and beautifully remodeled.”
Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2023, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 50 new bookstores in 2024.
The Cool Springs location is one of eight new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in September, alongside stores in DE, TX, FL, NY an AZ. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.
“We are very eager to be opening a new bookstore in our local mall,” said Store Managers, Rumalda Newman and Gabriel Jacobson. “Joining the retailers here at Cool Springs Galleria offers us an opportunity to cater to our community in a newly designed space as well as engage with readers who haven’t already visited our nearby Barnes & Noble in Brentwood.”
