Solution was the winner in the bronze recognition award organized by the European Federation of the paper bag industry Klabin, the largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable paper packaging solutions in Brazil, made history at this year's Eurosac Grand Prix as the only non-European company in the competition. The Company won the Bronze level with EcoLayer . The event took place on May 5th in Verona, Italy, during the Eurosac Congress. The award recognized EcoLayer as one of the innovations that most adds value to customers. Launched in 2021, EcoLayer was developed by Klabin's research and development, commercial and product development management teams. Aimed at the civil construction and fertilizer segments, sackraft packaging is innovative and sustainable. In the case of the fertilizer market, the solution has a double resin barrier, which eliminates the use of plastic in its composition, offering a resistant and recyclable package. The new barrier allows the shelf life of the bottled product to be extended, with a guarantee of preservation of its characteristics and maintenance of quality. As it is recyclable, it significantly reduces waste generation and contributes to the circular economy. Recognition at the Eurosac Grand Prix had as its main criterion the generation of value to the industry in terms of sustainable developments, biobarriers and special characteristics. The Eurosac Grand Prix is one of the most relevant recognitions for the bag market, bringing together the main players in the industry from different countries. “Winning an award of this magnitude is a reflection of Klabin's commitment to following its purpose of being a reference company in responsible solutions that meet the transformations of society, using forest-based products”, says Marcelo Gamo de Freitas, Commercial Manager of Klabin Bags.
