Valmet to deliver training simulators to Södra Cell Värö in Sweden

Mar 19, 2025

Valmet is to deliver training simulators to Södra Cell’s Värö mill in Sweden. The recovery boiler and cooking simulators will support the training of operators and other operational personnel, supporting the company’s long-term training ambition, and helping to ensure higher operational competence and efficiency.

The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the fourth quarter 2024. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

“We’re looking forward to work together with Valmet to build our operator training simulators at Södra Cell Värö. By having deep technical and process knowledge and experiences from training simulators in the project team from both Södra and Valmet, will be a great advantage for the project and the use of the training simulators”, says Marie Boman, Project Manager, Södra Cell Värö.

“Valmet has delivered several simulators to Södra Cell over the years. We are happy to continue the good cooperation by building training simulators as part of Södra’s training plan” says Lars Almkvist, Senior Manager, Process Simulation, Automation Systems business line, Valmet.

Delivery's technical information

The Valmet Training Simulator is an exact digital copy of the mill’s processes and controls, allowing personnel to safely practice hands-on procedures and scenarios to strengthen safe behavior and prepare for troubleshooting. The high-fidelity simulators, including TrainingManager software for exercise handling and reporting, are planned to be delivered during the first quarter of 2026.
