July 26, 2022 (press release) –
ICT Ibérica and its Foxy brand with the Alcoraz Foundation, which manages the Sociedad Deportiva Huesca football team, have launched a reforestation project in the Autonomous Community of Aragon under the motto “JUEGA TU PAPEL” (PLAY YOUR PART).
This is a reforestation project that aims at planting three hectares of land, with 500 trees per hectare, in the boroughs of the three provinces: Calamocha in the Teruel province, Alagón in the Zaragoza province, and Siétamo in the Huesca province.
The project was launched in November 2021, after the agreement was signed by the two parties, with the participation of various institutions and bodies such as the Government of Aragon, the Provincial Councils, Municipalities, Sports Clubs and inclusive Associations involved in this project.
The 3 main goals of the Project:
- Fighting global warming.
- Through environmental education, raising awareness in society on the importance of and need for these actions, as well as on the maintenance of geographic systems.
- Greater visibility of these actions.
To this end, in addition to the reforestation actions, environmental education classes were given in the schools of the various municipalities. The goal was to raise awareness among the younger population on the need for such environmental actions, developing intangible values, and conveying the importance of their involvement, for the environment as well as for society.
The environmental education classes consisted in one-hour lectures illustrating the various environmental and sustainability actions carried out by ICT Ibérica, how they are applied to our production process and their impact on improving the environment.
All that was complemented by a detailed explanation of the project and the reforestation carried out in the three municipalities to strengthen the intangible values mentioned above. The classes targeted children aged between 6 and 12, with an average attendance of about 30-40 children at each lecture. It is worthwhile to highlight the spontaneity and participation of the little ones, which turned these classes into an enriching and stimulating activity.
