The Times won 11 Front Page Awards from the Newswomen’s Club of New York, which recognizes exceptional work by newswomen in the metropolitan area.
Debra Kamin won the Front Page Award for Journalist of the Year for exposing what the judges called “a litany of abuses and misconduct” in the real estate industry, including within the National Association of Realtors.
“I have been in awe as I have watched Debra’s persistence and passion in covering an industry that has long gotten a pass when it comes to sexual harassment, discrimination and general accountability,” said Nikita Stewart, Real Estate editor. “Her body of work shows beat reporting at its finest.”
Somini Sengupta won the Lifetime Achievement Award for an “exemplary journalism career,” the judges said, which spanned a variety of roles over 20 years at The Times. In that time, Somini has worked in more than 50 countries, including 10 conflict zones, and she has held bureau chief roles internationally. Most recently, she has reported on climate change from a global perspective.
“Somini gives readers a full understanding of the human cost of rising global temperatures, and she writes with power and grace,” said Hannah Fairfield, Climate editor. “Her stories show how climate change is directly affecting the lives of people in every country.”

- Olivia Bensimon won in the Local Reporting Feature category for “Their Asylum Case Seems Strong. But Instead of Hope, They Feel Despair,” a profile of a family seeking asylum in New York City.
- Emma Goldberg won the Newspapers Feature award for “An Atheist Chaplain and a Death Row Inmate’s Final Hours.”
- Eden Weingart won in the Online Feature category for her interactive piece “Could Better Buses Fix Your Commute?”
- Amy Schoenfeld Walker and Elena Shao won in Online Multimedia News Package for their coverage of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
- Stephanie Keith won the Photography Feature award for her photographs in “Breaking the Ramadan Fast With Some of Brooklyn’s Newest Arrivals.”
- Eve Edelheit won in Photography News Photo Editing for “Where the Migrants Who Came to New York Are Living Now.”
- Keisha Scarville won the Photography Photo Essay award for “Is Guyana’s Oil a Blessing or a Curse?”
- Michelle Goldberg won for Specialized Reporting Editorial Opinion/Criticism for a package that included “The Unnerving Changeability of JD Vance,” “Women Have Gotten ‘Too Mouthy,’ Says This Republican Senate Candidate” and “In Poland, I Saw What a Second Trump Term Could Do to America.”
