We are excited to share that Victoria Chen will join The Times as a talent booker for NYT Cooking. This role is new to the team and will help us meet our ambition to feature high-profile talent in video, newsletters and other mediums. In addition to booking celebrities and other talent, Vicki will produce and direct videos in our kitchen studio and in the field.

Vicki comes to us from BuzzFeed, where she produced hundreds of celebrity interviews as the head of talent relations and booking. As part of her work there, she oversaw original series like The Puppy Interview, Thirst Tweets, Buzz Bites and more.

Vicki grew up at her parents’ Chinese restaurant in New Jersey — she even learned how to ride a bike in the parking lot. Her favorite foods are her mom’s lu rou fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice) and her dad’s scallion pancakes.

Vicki will report to Scott, and today is her first day. Please join us in welcoming her to The Times!
