ARLINGTON, Virginia , December 10, 2023 (press release) –

The Hill newspaper released its annual list of Washington, D.C.’s top lobbyists on December 6, naming the National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) Interim President & CEO Jim Riley and WM’s Director of Federal Legislative Affairs Ibn Salaam to its list for the impacts they made on behalf of the waste and recycling industry. This is the fifth consecutive year that Riley has received this prestigious honor as a member of the NWRA staff.

“I appreciate being named to this list once again. Our industry historically has been overlooked by lawmakers and regulators, something that I have worked hard to change. We do important work, which requires us to be strong advocates for our industry. Ibn’s recognition by The Hill is well-deserved, and we are thankful for his efforts on behalf of the industry,” said Riley.

The Hill noted, “These impactful advocates stand out for the results they’ve delivered for their clients, companies, trade associations and advocacy groups in the nation’s capital.”

Described as providing “nonpartisan reporting on the inner workings of Congress and the nexus of politics and business,” The Hill is mailed directly to all congressional offices and widely distributed around Capitol Hill as well as online and throughout downtown Washington, D.C.
