Introducing three new barrier papers for food and non-food applications
Sappi presented three exciting additions to its functional paper range: Guard ICC, Guard OHS, and Guard Twist Gloss. These new barrier papers offer optimal protection for products while delivering tangible environmental benefits. Thanks to integrated barrier technology, these papers eliminate the need for additional coatings or laminations, addressing the increasing market demand for recyclable alternatives to non-recyclable multilayer and plastic packaging.
Guard ICC is specifically designed for the food sector, with a focus on ice cream cone packaging. Meanwhile, Guard OHS and Guard Twist Gloss cater to the unique requirements of confectionery packaging. Notably, Guard Twist Gloss is particularly well-suited for twistable applications such as candy wrappers, making it a versatile and sustainable choice for the industry.
New Parade Label WS Linen: elevating returnable bottle labelling
Sappi presented its latest innovation in labelling for the beverage industry: Parade Label WS Linen. This new linen-embossed wet-glue label paper features a striking look and tactile feel, while also enhancing functionality. Like its glossy counterpart, Parade Label WS, this paper is resistant to moisture and alkali, ensuring that labels can be easily removed during bottle washing for reuse – a critical feature for promoting sustainability in the beverage industry.
The combination of premium aesthetics, high labelling performance and easy wash-off functionality makes Parade Label WS Linen a standout solution for beer, mineral water and soft drink labels, ensuring exceptional performance alongside significant environmental benefits.

Sappi also introduced Algro Volume, a premium paperboard that captivated visitors with its high-end appeal.
