VANCOUVER, British Columbia , December 26, 2023 (press release) –
According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, North America construction framing softwood lumber prices for 2023 shows stability, with the prices of benchmark Western S-P-F and Southern Yellow Pine East Side 2x4s matching roughly the same prices as one year ago.
Sawmill curtailments across Canada and the US when demand was lower has helped maintain ample supplies, despite customers' reluctance to make purchases beyond immediate needs.
Demand was flat in standard dimension and panel products, while unexpected sales spikes reported in Hem/Fir markets.
