LOS ANGELES , May 7, 2025 (Industry Intelligence Inc.) –

After hundreds of thousands of acres burned in March wildfires and criticism from Gov. Stitt, Oklahoma convened a Wildland Fire Working Group—led by Secretaries Blayne Arthur and Trish Everest with state agencies and local fire chiefs—to review the Forestry Services’ disaster response, KOSU reported on May 7, 2025. The group found no statutory requirement for existing Protection Areas, recommended revising resource staging (including possible dissolution of Protection Areas), implementing a computer-aided dispatch system, and appointing a full-time emergency response liaison.
