LOS ANGELES , April 15, 2025 (Industry Intelligence Inc.) –

According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter on April 15, the lumber market experienced a mix of optimism and caution following the exemption of Canadian lumber from new tariffs. While suppliers were encouraged, buyers remained hesitant due to potential future trade disruptions. Spring demand began to awaken, prompting stateside suppliers to adjust their inventories. However, overall market activity was hampered by uncertainty, with inventory holders focusing on supply management. Early spring ice storms in Ontario and Quebec halted trading in those regions, while Southern Yellow Pine players maintained lean inventories. Demand in the US Northeast was reported as below average for the season.
