In its third year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grant program supported 57 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2024. Recipients were selected by employee committees in all five Lozier locations.
These are the 2024 recipient organizations’ stories of impact shared on LozierLink.
1 in 7 kids under five years old is registered to receive one free book a month through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Jackson County Affiliate has mailed more than 30,000 books in the two years since its inception. If a newborn is registered at birth, by the time they reach kindergarten and age out of the program, they will have a library of 60 books at no cost to the family.
“Jackson County is a large county and we know we need to raise the literacy level here and this is one way to do it. We are thankful for Lozier’s support; they have made a statement that they want to support this literacy program,” Director Debbie Barclay said.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library Jackson County Affiliate works through the Impact Learning Center in Scottsboro. Through the partnership, the library is able to register children in the area and receive donations to support the cost to mail the books.
This is the second year the Jackson County Affiliate has received a Lozier Community Grant supporting literacy in Scottsboro and across Alabama. This funding has supported the nonprofit’s delivery of 373 books a month to children in the area.
