April 15, 2025 (press release) –

Shorewood, Illinois - IST America (ISTA), a global leader in UV, UV-LED, and Excimer technology, is pleased to announce its participation at PSTC Tape Week 2025, May 5 - 8 in Rosemont, IL. IST America will feature two standout solutions at Booth #519, each engineered to solve key challenges in pressure-sensitive adhesive and silicone coating production.

Closed Loop Control for UV Adhesives

Adhesive manufacturers often require precise control over peel, tack, and shear, qualities that can be affected by UV lamp performance. While some systems offer basic monitoring, IST America has developed a Closed Loop Control system that provides fully automated, real-time UV lamp adjustment during adhesive curing.

The technology is integrated into IST’s Smart Control software platform and uses optional S5 sensors to measure UVC output directly at the lamp. This allows for continuous adjustment of curing intensity based on production speed, lamp aging, and other variables. The system maintains consistent curing conditions without the need for manual operator input.

Closed Loop Control is designed to help reduce material waste, improve consistency across production runs, and support optimal surface and through-cure balance. The feature supports both UVC (for surface cure) and UVA (for deeper cure) and is suited for manufacturers requiring high-performance adhesive results with repeatable process control.

IST’s Closed Loop Control is ideal for manufacturers balancing high-performance adhesive demands with a need for efficiency and repeatability, and it’s exclusive to IST America.

Nitrogen Inert UV Curing for Silicone

Silicone coatings require high levels of UVC energy for effective curing. However, oxygen inhibition can hinder this process, often leading to increased ozone generation and energy inefficiencies. IST America’s Nitrogen Inert UV Curing System is designed to address these challenges by reducing the presence of oxygen in the curing environment.

The system includes a nitrogen distribution cabinet, custom-engineered low-oxygen chambers, and a continuous residual oxygen analyzer, all developed in-house and provided as part of the standard configuration. It also features a three-zone nitrogen chamber design that helps maintain consistent oxygen isolation and curing reliability.

Benefits of the system include improved energy efficiency, reduced oxygen-related curing interference, and continuous oxygen monitoring for enhanced quality control.

This solution is for those looking to upgrade an aging system, add a new line, or allow your tape customers to choose the curing system they prefer. IST delivers a fully supported, highly engineered solution.

Join us at Booth #519 during PSTC Tape Week to see the technology up close and speak with IST America’s experts about how we’re solving today’s toughest curing challenges with next-generation solutions.
