The annual Latamcan Conference has grown to become one of the leading and most important metal packaging industry events in Latin America. When it reconvenes May 21-23 at the Bourbon Atibaia Resort in Sao Paolo, Brazil, worldwide metal decorating leader INX International will have a major presence and play a significant role in two events on Thursday, May 22.

Eduardo Ribeiro, the Director of Metal Operations for INX do Brasil, will discuss “Exploring The Benefits of Inplant Ink Operations”, from 1:30-2:00 p.m. in the 2-Piece room. Later, Jack Knight will be honored with a Latamcan Achievement award for his monumental contributions to the metal decorating industry.

Each year INX continues its commitment to the industry by reinvesting in R&D to expand new technologies and deliver more advanced sustainable products and solutions. A year ago, Ribeiro spoke at the conference and told attendees that changes were continuing to impact the can market. His presentation this time will focus on the true value of an inplant ink operation.

“As an industry leader, our inplant operations give customers the freedom to streamline their business in many ways. Our ink specialists handle the responsibilities for managing your ink inventory and making sure precise amounts are used for every print job. By reducing inventories, you save on ink mixing costs and cut waste to help make your operation run more efficiently,” said Ribeiro.

“There are times during the customer/supplier relationship this benefit is not used to its fullest potential. I plan to talk about some alternative ways to look at this opportunity so everyone can take full advantage of it.”

It has been a hectic year for Ribeiro since last year’s conference. He and the INX do Brasil team welcomed guests when they unveiled a new state-of-the-art flexographic and gravure manufacturing facility in Cabreuva, Brazil on February 27. Located only 25 miles from their metal decorating plant in Itatiba, the 65,000 square-foot facility is part of a master plan complex that has acreage for future expansion to support metal decorating and other product lines.

Brazil is one of many countries Jack Knight has crisscrossed throughout his illustrious, 44-year career in metal lithography and can making. He has spent the last half – 22 years – at INX, and currently serves as the Global Business Development Director.

Since the 1990s, Mr. Knight has been a popular and eloquent speaker at many industry conferences, trade shows, special events, and at customer locations around the world. His work has also been published more than 50 times in metal decorating and packaging publications. Set to retire in August, he will be recognized at the awards ceremony which begins at 8 p.m. on May 22.
