  • A next-generation eight-colour printer with double varnish tower has been installed at the Valladolid plant.
  • Hinojosa Packaging Group is also showcasing its packaging solutions for the fishing industry at Seafood Expo Global, the world’s largest seafood event.

Hinojosa Packaging Group has taken a new step forward in its commitment to operational excellence and service quality with the installation of a cutting-edge offset printing technology at its plant in Valladolid. It is an eight-colour printer with a double varnish tower, capable of applying acrylic and ultraviolet finishes.

Its inline quality control system prevents any deviation and ensures homogeneous printing throughout the entire run, allowing comparison between the customer’s original design and the final production.

This investment also supports Hinojosa’s sustainability strategy. It reduces production waste and uses circular life cycle inks, significantly minimising waste generation. Furthermore, the printer is designed for heptachrome printing, enabling faster job changeovers.

At a time when packaging is becoming a central element of branding and marketing strategies, this new technology opens the door to a wide range of creative possibilities: metallic effects, gloss or matt finishes, textured surfaces and countless combinations of finishes and graphic effects. These enhancements will allow Hinojosa to meet the specific needs of clients across diverse sectors—such as the food and industrial sectors—more accurately and efficiently.

One of the sectors that will benefit most from this offset technology is the food industry, particularly frozen seafood packaging. The Valladolid plant has extensive experience in this area, and the new printer will enable the development of solutions that meet the stringent technical requirements of this type of packaging, including moisture and freeze resistance.

Hinojosa showcases its innovative packaging solutions for the fishing sector at Seafood Expo Global 2025

The company’s sustainable packaging solutions, designed to preserve product integrity from origin to supermarket shelf, are among the main highlights at Hinojosa’s stand at this year’s Seafood Expo Global, held in Barcelona from 6 to 8 May.

As specialists in the seafood production chain, Hinojosa is presenting several innovative packaging developments, including Halopack, a sustainable tray for fresh food that reduces single-use plastic by up to 80%. Manufactured using 100% renewable energy, it combines a highly durable structure with a high degree of customisation.

Hinojosa is also showcasing its Sumbox packaging solution to customers, which represents a sustainable alternative to POREX for transporting ice-packed or frozen fish. With a 100% airtight and waterproof structure, it is a recyclable, customisable solution that once again demonstrates Hinojosa’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
