January 10, 2025 (press release) –
On 16 December 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/31511.
The Council decided to maintain the restrictive measures against the persons and entities in the lists set out in Annexes II and III to Decision (CFSP) 2016/849. The entries for 21 persons and four entities in those Annexes should be updated. Also, in view of the continued ballistic missile-related activities carried out by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in violation of and with flagrant disregard for the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions, one entity should be included in the list of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex III to the Decision. On 17 September 2024, the UNSC Committee established pursuant to UNSC Resolution 1718 (2006) updated the information relating to one person in the list set out in Annex I to the Decision. The entry for that person should therefore be updated.
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision.
They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.
The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
