LOS ANGELES , December 27, 2023 (press release) –

The EPA will provide $2,198,867 in research funding to 22 small businesses for developing environmental technologies.

Some companies will receive funds for waste and recycling technologies, including autonomous robotic sorting and food waste diversion initiatives. One company, GreenTechnologies of Jacksonville, Florida, will work on developing technology to transform food waste into fertilizers.

Other recipients will focus on air quality, water purification and natural disaster risk mitigation initiatives.
