June 17, 2025 (Packaging News) –

Simone Broadhurst, event director, calls on sector to join leading brands, pioneering policymakers and next-gen disruptors for two packed days of insight, innovation, and awards that are shaping the future of packaging.

The 2025 Environmental Packaging Summit & Awards are more than just an industry event – they are the UK’s definitive stage for transformative ideas, ground breaking collaborations and real-world progress in sustainable packaging.

Taking place at the iconic Kia Oval, London , this year’s event includes a team of PackUK staff on stand to engage and network with packaging professionals in the supply chain and brands, promising even deeper insight, stronger industry engagement, and an unmissable opportunity to be part of packaging’s next chapter.

Margaret Bates , Head of the UK pEPR Scheme Administrator, will open the conference and give a detailed presentation of how legislation in the packaging sector is moving along – a great opportunity to hear from government.

Dr Andy Rees OBE will take the stage immediately afterwards, presenting Wales’ world-leading recycling progress and how it’s driving national ambition.

Karen Graley , the Head of EPR Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO), will open Day 2 of the conference, with a presentation titled: Why do we need a producer-led PRO?

She will provide a very timely update and explanation on matters relating to the four governments’ and Pack UK’s process to appoint a Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) to take on functions from the government-led pEPR scheme administrator.

Paul Vanston (INCPEN) will join Graley on stage for Q&As immediately afterwards.

On stage, some of the biggest names in retail and FMCG will take the spotlight. Senior leaders from Tesco , Ocado, Mondelēz, Nestlé, Twinings and Itsu Grocery will join forces with circularity disruptors like Gou[un]packaged and Reposit to share how scalable, commercial solutions are already being implemented across the sector.

Cadbury’s headline-grabbing recycled-plastic project will be unwrapped in full, while Twinings and Nestlé unpack how they’re embedding sustainability and compliance within global supply chains.

But this year, it’s not just about hearing from the big names—it’s about participation, interaction, and action.

Every session is designed to spark debate, challenge assumptions and create lasting connections. From live polling and interactive Q&As to curated networking zones and informal discussion hubs, delegates are encouraged to bring their voice into the room.

The new format also creates more space for what matters most: exchange.

Day one sets the agenda with future-focused sessions on regulation, circular design, and infrastructure readiness.

But it’s day two where everything clicks into place- brand-led case studies, high-value networking, and the chance to explore truly scalable reuse models and post-EPR strategies in depth.

It’s also where we celebrate sector excellence in the Environmental Packaging Awards, recognising the people, products and partnerships leading change.

Away from the stage, there’s energy and collaboration at every turn. Under-35 delegates join for free, bringing with them fresh perspectives and future leadership.

Whether you’re a supplier, retailer, sustainability lead or innovator, the Environmental Packaging Summit & Awards 2025 offers unparalleled access to the thinking and partnerships shaping the next phase of packaging.

The only question left is: will you be in the room?

Book your place now—and secure both days for the full experience.
