At Emballator, sustainability is at the core of our innovation strategy. As part of our commitment to developing sustainable packaging solutions, the Emballator Innovation Center is actively exploring molded fiber products as a complement to plastic, aluminum, and tinplate in the packaging sector.

Molded fiber products are made from renewable and biodegradable lignocellulosic fibers (both new and recycled fibers) through three main techniques: wet forming, dry forming, and press forming to create various types of three-dimensional fiber products. These molded fiber products have been commercially used in various packaging markets, such as food-related (egg and vegetable trays), other industrial packaging (electronics and automotive parts), disposable items, and trays and pots for flowers.

Emballator is taking significant steps towards a sustainable future by carefully evaluating raw materials and technology. We assess different sources of fiber materials and analyze the efficiency, cost, and impact on sustainability for both wet and dry forming techniques. This is being done to determine the best method for future development and ensure that our solutions are both effective and sustainable.

We actively collaborate with experts and suppliers, including machine manufacturers, raw material, and chemical suppliers, to explore innovative solutions. Through these collaborations, we can leverage the latest technology and expertise to create packaging that meets the needs of today and tomorrow.

Business opportunities are continuously explored, where we identify potential markets, customers, and partnerships for molded fiber packaging. This allows us to expand our reach and offer sustainable packaging solutions to a broader customer base. We also actively participate in relevant projects and test materials to ensure their performance and suitability. By participating in fiber forming projects for barriers and testing processed samples, we can validate our materials and techniques, ensuring that our products are of the highest quality.

Through research, collaboration, and technological advancements, we drive the transition towards sustainable packaging alternatives. Emballator is proud to be part of this important journey.
