Eco Flexibles is celebrating triple success after being shortlisted as a finalist in three categories at the prestigious Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 2025.

The company has been recognised across multiple award categories including Analogue-to-Digital for its Waitrose Fruit & Nut Range project, Application Excellence – Primary Packaging for the Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Sausage Range, and Excellence with Inkjet – Packaging for the Leicester Bakery Saritas Nan project.

This achievement reflects not only the company’s technological capabilities but also its fundamental commitment to transforming how recyclable monopolymer and paper-based flexible packaging is produced. Each shortlisted project demonstrates how Eco Flexibles helps brands transition from traditional mixed-material packaging to recyclable alternatives without compromising on performance or visual impact.

Simon Buswell, Director at Eco Flexibles, commented: “Being shortlisted not once, not twice, but three times across different categories is incredibly exciting for our team. Each project represents a different aspect of what we do best – whether it’s helping major retailers transition from analogue to digital production, creating outstanding flexible packaging that performs on shelf, or showcasing our cutting-edge water-based inkjet capabilities.”

The Analogue-to-Digital entry highlighted how Eco Flexibles successfully transitioned Waitrose’s packaging from traditional flexographic printing to digital production using Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 technology. This transformation delivered enhanced print quality, reduced waste, and improved production flexibility while maintaining the premium aesthetic that Waitrose customers expect.

The Primary Packaging entry for Sainsbury’s demonstrated the company’s ability to create high-impact packaging that stands out in competitive retail environments. Using a recyclable monopolymer structure and water-based digital printing, the project delivered impactful shelf presence while supporting Sainsbury’s sustainability commitments.

The Excellence with Inkjet – Packaging entry showcased Eco Flexibles’ technical expertise in digital printing technology. The Leicester Bakery project exemplifies how the company’s water-based Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 delivers outstanding print quality and rapid turnaround times for specialised food packaging applications.

“What makes these nominations particularly meaningful is that they span different market sectors and demonstrate our versatility,” added Simon. “From major supermarket chains to specialist food producers, we’re proving that sustainable packaging solutions can be tailored to meet diverse customer needs while consistently delivering exceptional results.”

The Digital Labels & Packaging Awards celebrate excellence across the full spectrum of digital production, from cutting-edge packaging design to environmental performance. Winners will be announced at the prestigious ceremony on July 10, 2025, at The Kia Oval in London.
