The Colorado Forest Tracker, developed by the Colorado State Forest Service and the Colorado Forest Restoration Institute at Colorado State University, is a new online dashboard compiling data from 2000 to 2023 to enhance forest management and wildfire mitigation efforts in Colorado, CPR News reported on May 7, 2025. It aims to bridge gaps created by federal cuts, streamline funding and planning, and provide a transparent, public resource to inform policymakers, firefighters, and researchers about the impact of forest management practices such as reforestation and prescribed burns.
