January 12, 2024 (press release) –

CalRecycle is moving the date of the questions and answers session from January 31, 2024, to February 1, 2024. It was brought to our attention that the original date of the questions and answers session for the implementation of SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022) conflicts with the Recycling Updates 2024 Rulemaking Advisory Committee Meeting hosted by Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.

The updated information is reflected below:

Date and Time:

Date: February 1, 2024*
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m.*
Location: Byron Sher Auditorium (1001 I Street, 2nd Floor, Sacramento, CA 95812)
Attend in person, via Zoom or via Webcast
Spanish translation will be available.
*Date and time of this meeting is still subject to change.

As a reminder, during this session, CalRecycle will present an overview of SB 54, the upcoming rulemaking process, the draft regulatory text, and will endeavor to answer clarifying questions about the draft regulatory text.

The purpose of this session is to provide an opportunity for the public to ask clarifying questions about the draft regulations, not to provide official public comments on the regulations. CalRecycle aims to provide the public with ample time to review and prepare comments for the forthcoming 45-day comment period, which will open in the coming months when CalRecycle initiates the formal rulemaking process.

More detail, including a detailed agenda, will be forthcoming through the listserv.
