"We know that sustainability is important to consumers, so by moving to 80% certified recycled plastic, we are not only helping to give flexible plastic a second life, but also helping Cadbury fans enjoy their favourite snacks, knowing they're doing something positive for the planet."
The new recycled packing utilises recycling technology to repurpose used plastic into safe packaging.
Cadbury has procured and allocated a quantity of recycled material that fulfils the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification's (ISCC) standards, to manufacture the new packaging composed of 80% recycled plastic.
With products such as Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel 120g, Cadbury Fruit and Nut 180g and Cadbury Dairy Milk 360g now available in the recycled packaging, the shift towards sustainability has started and by the end of the year, both Cadbury and its customers will be contributing to environmental conservation.
Cadbury has also revealed it will soon be releasing a new flavour of chocolate, 'shaking up' an old favourite, the Twirl, but with a twist - it will be "White dipped."
No release date has been given by the chocolatier.
