The latest in what's going on in the world of breakfast:

To donut or not to donut: One mom's breakfast for her toddler

Any parent will tell you that feeding a child at pretty much any age is a challenge. Sure, you want your child to eat healthy. But you also want them to eat period.

So when a North Carolina mom posted a TikTok video of her cutting up three powdered doughnuts and placing them on a pink plate with a package of cinnamon apple sauce for her 1-year-old daughter, she received a lot of support and understanding from fellow parents who know all too well how difficult feeding time can be.

Positive comments on the video, which received over 12 million views, included:

"That's what realistic motherhood looks like!"

"Your kids are fed, they are happy. You are doing a good job."

"For years, my oldest would only eat a pack of mini chocolate muffins for breakfast. We all just do what we can."

"My daughter survived on biscuits and fish sticks and would eat nothing else. No shame, mama!"

"Sometimes my kids have ice cream for breakfast because it's fun."

"Can someone explain the difference between giving kids donuts for breakfast versus pancakes with syrup?"

Now, there were other comments from viewers that weren't so nice:

"So just sugar."

"This is real? OMG."

"The fresh fruit? The protein? The grains?"

"Wow. What kind of breakfast is this?"

"Sugar can't be good for a 1 year old's development."

"This breaks my heart."

White truffles with eggs and toast? It'll cost you

A Michelin-starred restaurant in London known for its high prices of standard fare is at it again, and customers aren't happy.

The restaurant--Hide--serves a scrambled eggs and toast meal for $73. Last year, the establishment sparked controversy online for serving scrambled eggs and toast for $40. Why the $33 rise in price? Because now you can get your scrambled eggs and toast mixed with truffles, raising the price to $45. But if your preference is white truffles, $73 (plus tax and tip) is going to be on your bill.

Online response?

“Simply adding truffle to bread doesn’t automatically elevate one to the status of a chef."

“The pricing was exceptionally high without any apparent justification."

“No amount of shaved truffles can make up for the fact that this toast is $40 each."

The people have spoken.

Look out, Avocado Toast: Here comes pesto and egg (on toast)

It's the breakfast that's taking TikTok by storm: Pesto and eggs on toast!

Much like when avocado toast first came on the scene, this pesto and egg recipe, shared by Amy Wilichowski, has gone viral on TikTok with more than 12 million people curious about it. Why? Because it's so easy to make. Simply cook your eggs in pesto instead of butter, add toast and you're done.

And just like that, a new breakfast sensation is born.
