Berry Global proudly presents the third annual recycling program for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Newburgh, Indiana at Victoria National Golf Club. Berry places a strong focus on advancing plastics recycling access and infrastructure, specifically for polypropylene. To promote recycling at the event, Berry donated 60 recycling bins for inside the clubhouse and hospitality areas and 10 larger bins for the outdoor areas. In addition, Berry employees volunteered their time to maintain the recycling bins, collecting over 2,600 pounds of recyclables during the tournament.
“Through spending time and resources toward recycling, we are continuing to build awareness about the importance of recycling in addition to creating infrastructure where there previously wasn’t any. Acts such as this, when repeated, will help increase the amount of materials which can be remade into new materials,” said Diane Marret, VP of Sustainability for Berry’s Consumer Packaging North America division.
During the tournament, players and spectators recycled their plastic, paper, and aluminum in the bins. This is part of Berry’s broader sustainability strategy, Impact 2025. Providing increased recycling access is critical to transitioning to a circular economy and working toward its goal of ensuring that 100% of its packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable
