June 6, 2024 (press release) –
AQUILA Września, part of the VPK Group, has begun further expansion in Greater Poland. Established in 2005, AQUILA's first plant in Poland, it is expanding the factory with a new production hall of nearly 13,000 sqm and plans to install a new corrugator with innovative technological infrastructure.
A valued product on the market
This is another investment by the VPK Group in Poland, which is hugely important for all of Aquila's long-standing and trusted customers. The year 2024 began for the company with the construction of a new hall at the existing plant in Września. It is the oldest corrugated board plant of the VPK Group in Poland. For more than 18 years it has been producing the best quality product and supplying the largest packaging manufacturers in the country and abroad.
"Our product and brand have quickly won the trust of an increasing number of customers at home and abroad. For the sake of their satisfaction and in response to the trust they have placed in us, we decided to invest in the quality of paperboard, which required us to take multifaceted measures. The unrelenting demand for corrugated packaging is forcing us to be even more active in the market, ensuring great customer service and further improving efficiency. Currently, our main investment project remains the installation of a new corrugator in Września, from which stems the need for a new hall. I am pleased with the continuous development of the company and the commitment of the entire team of employees, thanks to which we can achieve further successes", says Jacek Kryszkiewicz, managing director.
Investment with potential
The scale of the investment strengthens Aquila's business position and provides customers with even more modern and efficient production. Their customers know that it is a safe partner in business, providing convenient cooperation.
"The new investment is not only the construction of a new production and warehousing hall, but above all just the purchase of a new corrugator. We forecast that construction will take about 9 months, and the launch of the new technological line will take place in the first quarter of 2025. We have a group of operators with great experience at our Września plant, and as a result, I am confident that the new corrugator will quickly reach maximum capacity. Let's keep expanding and look forward to the installation of the machine, which will enable us to provide even better quality raw material for packaging production", says Lukasz Nęcki, operations director.
The new hall will house a FOSBER 2.8m corrugator with a triple cross cutter and logistics system from SEEMI, as well as all the necessary technological infrastructure. The machine has three cross-cutters, three stakers, which, very importantly, will be able to handle three different orders for customers. The speed of the corrugator is as high as 420 m / minute, which will give Aquila the ability to produce up to 20 million m2 of corrugated cardboard per month.
