– Legislation introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives would give food stamp recipients a 30% bonus for fruit and vegetable purchases, The Packer reported July 2.
The legislation, which would amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 and provide a financial incentive for food stamp households to purchase certain fruits and vegetables, will be referred to the House Agriculture Committee.
