Carlsberg Denmark selects Rexam to produce four 33-cl can designs for its Barclays Premier League sponsorship; Rexam combines two designs on parallel lines at Fredericia plant, mixes designs before palletizing to deliver four designs simultaneously

LONDON , April 14, 2014 (press release) – Carlsberg Denmark has selected Rexam, a leading global can manufacturer and the number one can maker in Europe, to produce four new can designs, celebrating Carlsberg’s sponsorship of the Barclays Premier League.

The limited edition 33cl cans are produced at Rexam’s Fredericia plant by combining two designs on parallel lines, which are mixed before palletising to deliver four designs simultaneously. The eye catching designs show images of football fans in “Barclays Premier League” strips, highlighting the brands strapline ‘that premier feeling’, creating excitement around the English football season.

Commenting on the limited edition can designs, Rasmus Bendtsen, Carlsberg Pilsner Denmark Brand Manager says, “We are proud to be the official beer of the Barclays Premier League and wanted a can design to communicate this. We looked to Rexam as we have a longstanding relationship with the company and appreciate their innovative design techniques. We are pleased with the outcome and feel it captures the excitement of the Barclays Premier League perfectly.”

The promotional design will replace the traditional Carlsberg design for a limited period and will be available to buy in multi-packs in Danish retail and convenience stores from March 2014.
