According to the Frigidaire study, which focused on the shopping habits of chest and upright freezer owners, the average consumer who own a secondary freezer makes 1 ½ less trips each month to the grocery store and saves an average of 60 hours per year by making fewer trips to the grocery store. Overall, those who own a secondary freezer say it allows them to stock up on family favorite foods, and the extra storage space lets them take advantage of sales and buying in bulk.
