LOS ANGELES , July 5, 2013 () – Kronospan GmbH is considering a restart at its particleboard mill in Bischweier, Germany, according to a report by German industry news service Euwid. The mill has been shuttered since Dec. 2010.

Company officials told an April meeting of the Karlsruhe Regional Council that it was considering whether to resume operations this fall, and another meeting has taken place since then, according to Euwid's report. The municipality of Bischweier has also reportedly been notified.

Operating and emission control permits are due to expire three years after production ceases in December 2013, but extensions can be granted on request.
