CINCINNATI , June 20, 2012 (press release) – xpedx, the leading business-to-business distribution company in North America, has begun exclusive distribution of the new Appleton Coated Utopia Inkjet Gloss paper in commercial printing applications. Bulkley Dunton, xpedx’s paper brokerage business, is the exclusive distributor for publishing applications.

Rob Watson, xpedx’s director, marketing-Printing Papers says Utopia Inkjet Gloss papers can bring increased profits and efficiency to xpedx customers. “Adding gloss finish to the Utopia web ink jet product line may be the catalyst for xpedx customers to increase commercial web inkjet growth,” said Watson. “Publishing saw solid gains last year and additional presses are being installed for a wider variety of commercial printing solutions. Appleton’s Utopia premium web inkjet papers will have more commercial print applications in this environment.”

With the addition of Utopia Inkjet Gloss, xpedx and Bulkley Dunton expand their roles as exclusive distributors of all Appleton Coated Utopia Inkjet papers in the Web inkjet market. Offerings include:

Utopia Inkjet Gloss and Dull (publishing, commercial printing, direct mail)
Utopia Book Inkjet matte (book publishing)
Utopia Uncoated Inkjet with ColorPRO Technology

All Appleton Coated Utopia Inkjet grades are optimized for use with the HP Web Inkjet Press family. They are also compatible with other high speed inkjet platforms, including the Kodak Prosper™ Press.

Publishers and commercial printers use these papers to produce personalized, high-impact color printing, including direct mail, short-run books and much more. The papers are treated during the manufacturing process, eliminating the need for special ink bonding agents to be added on press.
