A plant that makes corrugated sheeting for boxes is to be established in Kansas City, Missouri, by a joint venture called Hartland Sheets LLC, reported The Kansas City Star on April 26.

The operation, which will occupy a 127,000-square-foot building, is slated to start up in June. It will be managed by Sheets LLC, a subsidiary of Indianapolis, Indiana-based Schwarz Partners LP.

Plans call for Hartland Sheets to spend US$23.4 million on the facility, including $12.2 million on equipment and $1.6 million on installation, according to the city, The Kansas City Star reported.

On April 26, the Kansas City Council approved $15 million in tax-exempt industry revenue bonds to help the project. The city also approved a 75% property tax abatement for the development.

The plant is expected to provide 43 full-time jobs at an average annual salary of $49,000.

Company officials were not available for comment, reported The Kansas City Star.
