ORVILLE, Ohio , March 23, 2012 (press release) – The J. M. Smucker Company (NYSE: SJM - News) today announced the promotion of Corporate Officer Chris Resweber, the appointment of Corporate Officer Julia Sabin to a new role, and the election of Tamara Fynan as a Corporate Officer of the Company.

Mr. Resweber, currently a Corporate Officer and Vice President, Marketing Communications, was promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, effective May 1, 2012. Mr. Resweber has been with the Company for 24 years and has held a variety of leadership positions in marketing, advertising and communications.

Ms. Sabin, currently a Corporate Officer and Vice President and General Manager, Smucker Natural Foods, Inc., was appointed to Vice President, Industry and Government Affairs, effective June 1, 2012. Ms. Sabin succeeds Al Yeagley who will retire from the Company on December 31, 2012, after 38 years as a Smucker employee. Ms. Sabin has been with the Company for 28 years.

Ms. Fynan has been an employee of the Company for 22 years and was promoted to a Corporate Officer and Vice President, Marketing Services, effective May 1, 2012. Ms. Fynan was formerly the Vice President, Advertising and Creative Services. Ms. Fynan has over 20 years of experience working on iconic brands that are part of the Company's brand portfolio.
