Carbondale town trustees have approved a ban on plastic shopping bags at local grocery stores.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (http://bit.ly/t5k90w ), the ordinance will take effect in May.
Other area municipalities including Basalt and Glenwood Springs are also considering bag laws.
