Budweiser to remain World Cup sponsor through 2018 edition in Russia, 2022 event in Qatar, officials announce

BRUSSELS , October 25, 2011 () – Budweiser will remain a sponsor of the World Cup through the 2018 edition in Russia and the 2022 event in Qatar, officials announced Tuesday.

FIFA and Anheuser-Busch InBev said in a joint statement that Budweiser was the first of the major sponsors to commit for the next three World Cups. Budweiser has been involved as FIFA sponsor since Mexico 1986 and is also on board for Brazil 2014.

Financial details were not released.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is based in Leuven, Belgium.
