Russia's LDPE production for January-May period up 1% year-over-year to 273,000 tonnes; LDPE output for May down 0.6% month-over-month to 48,600 tonnes

MOSCOW , July 3, 2014 () – According to Market Report, Russia's low-density polyethylene (LDPE) production in Jan-May 2014 rose by 1% year-on-year to 273,000 tonnes against 270,200 tonnes in Jan-May 2013. LDPE output totalled 48,600 tonnes in May 2014 and 48,900 tonnes in Apr 2014. Capacity load were raised at the facilities of Angara Polymer Plant and Sibur's subsidiary, Tomskneftekhim. Angara Polymer Plant was able to produce 22,600 tonnes of LDPE in Jan-May 2014, up by 42.5% year-on-year. The company's May 2014 and Apr 2014 LDPE production amounted to 6100 tonnes and 5200 tonnes, respectively. A total of 110,100 tonnes (+1.4% year-on-year) was produced by Tomskneftekhim in Jan-May 2014: 22,600 tonnes produced in May 2014 and 21,900 tonnes manufactured in Apr 2014. Meanwhile, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat sustained a capacity load level as that in 2013 and produced 16,200 tonnes of LDPE in Jan-May 2014. Ufaorgsintez' LDPE output in Jan-May 2014 stood at 83,000 tonnes and that of Kazanorgsintez amounted to 37,000 tonnes, down year-on-year by 4% and 7%, respectively.
