The Home Depot's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2014.

The Home Depot, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2001, will be honored for its leadership in its long-term commitment to energy efficiency through promotion of energy-efficient products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.

The Home Depot is receiving the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence recognition for engaging every aspect of its retail business - from increasing its ENERGY STAR product assortment to marketing and promotions, to building consumer awareness of and demand for ENERGY STAR. Through 2013, with help from ENERGY STAR, American families and businesses have saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

"By providing customers with more energy-efficient choices, The Home Depot is helping American consumers save energy and money while protecting the environment," said EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe. "ENERGY STAR products help to reduce harmful carbon pollution that contributes to the changing climate."
