BEIJING , March 7, 2014 () – China will appropriately use the international market to meet its grain demand, but is unlikely to see a significant increase in its grain imports, said Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu on Thursday.

The country will unswervingly rely on domestic production to guarantee grain security, noted Han at a press conference for the second session of China's 12th National People's Congress (NPC).

Han is confident that China's grain output will continue to rise after consecutive increases for 10 years given the government's policy supports for agriculture, improving agricultural technology and high level of infrastructure.
