FORTUM, Finland , December 30, 2013 (press release) – Fortum sells its Kauttua combined heat and power plant in Eura, South-Western Finland to the Finnish energy company Adven Oy. The transaction is part of Fortum’s efficiency programme launched in October 2012. Fortum is focusing on CHP-production at larger centres and units.

The Kauttua CHP-plant generates electricity for the national grid, district heat for Adven's network in the Eura region and process steam for industrial consumers in the region. The plant is fuelled mainly by a variety of wood, paper and plastic-based recycled trade and industry fuels suitable for energy use. Altogether 18 people will transfer with the business to Adven.
